Key qualifications and desired experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Experience working with high school-aged learners
- Ability to manage and prioritize a varied caseload in multiple settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Comfortable utilizing assistive technology or virtual instruction platforms
- Flexibility to travel between sites or work remotely, as needed
Primary duties:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Conduct assessments and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and create accessible learning experiences
- Provide support to staff and families to ensure best practices in communication strategies and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records and ongoing progress reporting for students on your caseload
- Utilize virtual resources and technology to enhance learning, when applicable
