Teacher of the Deaf in Arvin, CA

As an itinerant educator, you’ll support up to 40 students, traveling between schools to deliver specialized instruction and ensure each learner receives the attention and resources they need.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (state requirements apply)
- Proven experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of auditory technologies and assistive devices
- Effective communication skills with students, families, and education teams
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning styles and environments
- Open to both in-person and virtual work arrangements
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to high school students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, tailoring lessons to individual needs
- Collaborate closely with general educators and support staff to integrate accommodations and modifications in mainstream classrooms
- Conduct ongoing assessments, monitor progress, and report on student achievement
- Offer guidance to families regarding communication strategies and resources
- Engage in professional development to remain current with best practices and legal compliance for special education
