Empower high school students with hearing differences to achieve their full potential by serving in an impactful role supporting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. This full-time, full school year contract offers both on-site and virtual opportunities for a dynamic educator passionate about inclusive learning.

Support an engaging caseload of up to 40 high school students, traveling between sites as an itinerant teacher to address a spectrum of communication and educational needs. Your expertise will play a pivotal part in fostering access, advocacy, and academic success for your students.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credential for Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or state-appropriate certification
  • Previous experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 setting, preferably with high school populations
  • Strong ASL proficiency and comprehensive understanding of Deaf culture
  • Ability to tailor instructional approaches to accommodate student IEPs and diverse learning styles
  • Comfort utilizing technology for both in-person and virtual instruction
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) addressing language, communication, and academic goals
  • Deliver direct instruction in academic subjects and facilitate impactful learning experiences
  • Employ assistive technology and adaptive resources to optimize student access to curriculum
  • Travel between campuses as needed, supporting students in various school environments
  • Maintain thorough documentation and collaborate regularly with educators, administrators, and support staff
