Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Bakersfield, California
Make a difference as a dedicated educator supporting high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. In this contract position, you’ll work full-time overseeing a caseload of up to 40 students, providing essential instruction and advocacy. This itinerant role offers variety and the opportunity to travel to different locations, or you may choose to provide services virtually if that best suits your working style.

Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support teams to tailor learning plans and implement effective strategies. Qualifications:
- Valid credential or certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with high school-aged students with hearing differences
- Comfort with itinerant teaching or virtual service delivery
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Assess student needs and adapt curriculum and materials as necessary
- Travel between sites (if itinerant) or effectively deliver services online
- Work closely with teachers, families, and service providers
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation
