Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Lamont, CA

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Proficient in both speech and sign language-based instruction methods
- Ability to travel between sites as needed if on-site
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation for students with hearing impairments
- Comfort with technology for virtual learning environments, if remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, support, and consultation for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Coordinate and implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
- Travel to multiple schools or student locations if serving as an itinerant teacher
- Utilize multiple modes of communication to meet student needs, including American Sign Language or other assistive technology
- Contribute to ongoing assessment and adjustment of instructional strategies
