Desired qualifications:
- Valid Georgia teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities as needed
- Strong background developing and adapting curriculum for students with hearing needs
- Experience providing both direct instruction and consultative support in educational settings
- Ability to assess student progress and implement instructional strategies based on IEPs
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills for teamwork with staff, students, and families
What you’ll do:
- Deliver specialized instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, in-person, one-on-one and in group settings
- Partner with general education teachers to ensure full access and meaningful inclusion for students
- Develop, write, and execute IEPs, monitoring and reporting on student progress regularly
- Coordinate with speech therapists, counselors, and audiologists as needed to provide wraparound support
- Advise on assistive technologies and classroom modifications for optimal learning environments
- Serve as a resource for staff and parents on strategies to support student success and engagement
