Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Atlanta, Georgia

Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state credentials required)
- Experience working with students in educational settings, preferably K-12
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, advocacy, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, individually or in group settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and adapt curriculum as needed
- Promote self-advocacy and independence in students
- Serve as a resource for best practices in Deaf education and accessibility
- Engage with families to support student progress and create an open line of communication
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
