What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct specialized instruction and support to students with hearing differences as described in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop, implement, and track progress on IEP goals tailored to the unique needs of each learner
- Employ adaptive communication approaches, including American Sign Language (ASL), to foster meaningful engagement and learning
- Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and related staff to ensure equitable access to the curriculum
- Support the use and troubleshooting of hearing technology—such as FM/DM systems, AAC devices, and cochlear implants—in the classroom setting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of student progress, parent communications, and mandated reports
Preferred Background:
- Current Pennsylvania certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (PK–12)
- Previous experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a school setting
- Proficiency in ASL and a collaborative, flexible approach to meeting diverse student needs
- Strong familiarity with the implementation and support of hearing assistive technologies
