Teacher of the Deaf in Upper Darby, PA

Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing or eligibility for state licensure
- Previous experience in educational settings or with Deaf / Hard of Hearing students preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Confidence in offering both direct instruction and consultative services
- Understanding of relevant technology and accommodations for accessibility
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf / Hard of Hearing students across different school campuses
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress on comp minutes
- Travel between assigned sites to meet with students, staff, and families
- Consult with general education teachers and staff to ensure classroom inclusivity and accessibility
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in accordance with district requirements
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of tailored educational strategies
- Offer guidance on assistive technology and accessible materials as appropriate
