DHH Teacher | West Chester, Pennsylvania
Make a meaningful impact by supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing during the 2026–2027 school year! This full-time contract opportunity serves approximately 34 students across 12 campuses, providing essential instruction and advocacy for learners from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Starting in December 2026 and continuing through June 2027, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring access to education for a wide age range of students.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania DHH K-12 Licensure (Instructional I or II)
- Experience or training as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Comfort working with PK–12 students across multiple locations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt curriculum to meet students’ unique needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in various settings
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers and school staff to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth
- Travel between campuses as needed to deliver services
- Adapt lesson plans to align with student IEPs and ensure equal access to curriculum
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation
- Communicate with families regarding student achievements and strategies for success
