Key Qualifications:
- Valid credential as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience supporting students with a range of hearing needs, including those utilizing cochlear implants
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and advocacy skills when working with families, educators, and related service providers
- Flexibility to travel throughout the county to meet student needs
- Organized, self-motivated, and skilled at managing a mobile caseload
Responsibilities:
- Deliver on-site instruction, accommodations, and support tailored to each student’s goals
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and actively participate in IEP meetings
- Train and collaborate with general education staff to foster inclusive practices
- Consult with parents and caregivers, offering guidance on home strategies for maximizing students’ communication and learning
- Adapt materials and utilize technology to enhance access to curriculum
