No two days are the same, as you’ll travel within the county to ensure each student receives the individualized attention they need to grow and succeed.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification and/or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with children or adolescents with hearing loss, including knowledge of assistive technology such as cochlear implants
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with school-based teams, families, and specialists
- Comfort with a mobile role, providing services across multiple locations within a county
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible educational experiences for all students
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support services tailored to students with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Travel to multiple schools and locations to provide in-person service where needed
- Collaborate with general educators and support staff to adapt curriculum and instruction
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide consultation and resources to school staff and families to promote understanding of hearing loss and deaf education
