This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing ready to work onsite and travel between multiple school locations. You’ll play an essential part in helping students thrive by providing personalized educational support in diverse settings, serving a caseload of approximately 30 students—including some with cochlear implants.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with hearing needs in K-12 educational environments
- Familiarity with cochlear implant technology and intervention strategies
- Ability to adapt to various school cultures and travel to different sites within the county
- Strong communication and collaborative skills with students, families, and staff
- Dedication to fostering inclusive education and promoting student success
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple campuses
- Develop, implement, and track IEPs and individualized learning plans
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff for full student inclusion
- Offer guidance and resources to families to enhance student learning at home
- Support students with cochlear implants, ensuring proper educational accommodations
- Maintain clear documentation of progress and ongoing needs
This full-time, 35-hour-per-week position enables you to connect with a dynamic network of educators while driving meaningful outcomes for students countywide. You’ll have variety in your day and the chance to see your work benefit a diverse population.
