DHH Teacher | Live Oak, California
Make an impact by empowering students with hearing differences across a vibrant county near Live Oak, CA. This on-site opportunity is designed for experienced Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing passionate about providing hands-on support to a diverse caseload of approximately 30 students, some of whom utilize Cochlear implants. You'll be a vital presence, traveling between locations within the county as you deliver individualized instruction and collaborate with dedicated teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid teaching credential specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related field
- Previous experience supporting students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in educational settings
- Familiarity working with students using Cochlear implants is preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility for traveling within a countywide assignment
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse student needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, specialized instruction on-site to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing across various school locations
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Support and guide general education teachers and staff on best practices for inclusion
- Monitor student progress, adjust strategies, and document outcomes
- Offer consultation for assistive technologies and auditory equipment, including Cochlear implants
- Foster positive, supportive relationships with students and their families
