Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Camas, WA

Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Washington State Teaching Certificate (Residency or Professional) with a Deaf Education or DHH endorsement
- Background in instructing students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, ideally in a school setting
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of DHH students
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary education team
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, using specialized methodologies and resources
- Modify curriculum and learning materials considering individual student needs and IEP goals
- Collaborate with other educators, families, and support staff to ensure the success and well-being of each student
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction and support as needed
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of individualized plans
- Promote a positive, empowering atmosphere that respects each student's abilities and encourages growth
