Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate (Residency or Professional)
- Endorsement or specialization in Deaf Education or Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Strong background working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, utilizing appropriate communication methods and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with staff, families, and related service providers
- A commitment to creating an inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environment
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction using evidence-based practices tailored to students’ individual needs
- Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for eligible students
- Support language development, literacy, and academic achievement for DHH learners
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals to adapt curriculum and integrate accommodations
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and outreach activities as required
