Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate (Residency or Professional)
  • Endorsement in Deaf Education or Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Demonstrated experience or training in engaging and teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong American Sign Language (ASL) and communication skills
  • Ability to design and implement individualized educational programs
  • Collaborative approach to working with families, general education teachers, and school-based teams

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a variety of settings
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Utilize and adapt curriculum resources to meet students’ individual needs and learning styles
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes language development and student empowerment
  • Partner with school staff, service providers, and families to optimize student success
  • Maintain detailed records and provide input for student evaluations and progress meetings
  • Support accessibility through the use of assistive technology and accommodations
