Key Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate (Residency or Professional)
- Endorsement in Deaf Education or Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Demonstrated experience or training in engaging and teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong American Sign Language (ASL) and communication skills
- Ability to design and implement individualized educational programs
- Collaborative approach to working with families, general education teachers, and school-based teams
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across a variety of settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilize and adapt curriculum resources to meet students’ individual needs and learning styles
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes language development and student empowerment
- Partner with school staff, service providers, and families to optimize student success
- Maintain detailed records and provide input for student evaluations and progress meetings
- Support accessibility through the use of assistive technology and accommodations
