Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Certification (PK–12)
- Previous experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Demonstrated familiarity with hearing technologies, including FM/DM systems, AAC devices, and cochlear implants
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in accordance with each Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Develop, implement, and routinely assess IEP goals tailored to the unique needs of each student
- Work in close partnership with general education teachers, families, and related service personnel to support student progress
- Provide guidance and training on the use of hearing technologies to students and staff
- Advocate for students’ access, inclusion, and success within the school environment
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required
