Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate
- Meets Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or willingness to fulfill them within the designated timeframe
- Holds or is eligible for applicable licensure for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction within Alabama
Preferred Experience:
- Experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Ability to design individualized educational plans and adapt curriculum
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in accordance with each Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to maximize student success
- Implement effective teaching strategies and educational technology as appropriate
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
