Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state licensure or appropriate endorsement as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Certification in Deaf Education (or eligibility to obtain one before start date)
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting is strongly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt curriculum as needed
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, based on individualized program goals
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, speech/language specialists, and families to promote student growth
- Develop and maintain clear documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Provide consultation to teachers and staff to enhance classroom accessibility and inclusion
- Adapt educational materials and utilize appropriate technology or tools to accommodate students’ hearing needs
