What you’ll bring:
- Valid teacher licensure, endorsement, and/or certifications specific to Deaf and Hard of Hearing education (to be provided during the application process)
- Experience teaching students who are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing in mainstream or dedicated settings
- Strong communication skills, including the use of American Sign Language (ASL), Total Communication, or other modalities as appropriate for student needs
- A collaborative approach, working well with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Role responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students per individualized plans and state curriculum standards
- Assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet developmental and academic goals
- Offer support and resources to general education teachers to ensure classroom inclusion and accessibility
- Maintain ongoing communication with families to support student success
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as school policies
- Participate in required meetings, IEP processes, and professional development
