- Appropriate state licensure for Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching within Alabama, or a plan to obtain as required
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and support services to students identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing, helping them succeed in mainstream and special education environments
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure the provision of accessible education in compliance with IEPs and district policies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to track student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in team meetings and IEP conferences to advocate for students’ needs
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere that honors communication diversity and student strengths
