Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (TDHH)
- Demonstrated experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Knowledge of assistive technologies, language development, and differentiated instruction
- Commitment to individualized support and fostering inclusive environments
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, adapting methods as needed for student success
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with related service providers and classroom teachers
- Employ visual techniques, American Sign Language (ASL), or other communication strategies best suited to each student
- Engage families in the educational process, offering regular updates and guidance
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best educational pathways for students
- Document progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with school and state requirements
