Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
- Experience developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Knowledge of assistive technology, auditory/oral and/or sign language communication strategies
- Strong collaboration skills to work with general education teachers, families, and related service providers
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and best-practice instruction in DHH education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ language, communication, and academic goals
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Consult with classroom teachers to support inclusion, accessibility, and classroom modifications
- Facilitate and support communication using sign language, amplification devices, or other supports as appropriate
- Maintain detailed documentation for student progress and IEP goals
