Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (state-specific credentials required)
- Proficiency in sign language and alternative communication methods
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt strategies for diverse student needs and learning styles
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, support, and advocacy for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Develop individualized lesson plans and assist in creating accessible classroom materials
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure inclusive participation
- Engage with parents/guardians through regular communication and progress updates
- Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and make data-driven recommendations for supports or modifications
- Attend IEP meetings and professional development as required
