Key Qualifications:

  • Current, valid DHH teaching license issued by the state of California
  • Prior experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and signed
  • Ability to create and deliver individualized educational programs (IEPs)
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborative spirit, working closely with families, staff, and service providers

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students in a self-contained classroom setting
  • Assess student needs and progress, adapting lessons as required
  • Develop, implement, and revise IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists
  • Foster student confidence, self-advocacy, and communication skills
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families
