Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Elk Grove, California

The current DHH teacher is preparing for retirement, and the assignment is slated to begin in November or December.
Qualifications:
- Active Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) License in California is required
- Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills, both in speech and sign language
- Ability to develop and adapt curriculum materials for a range of learning levels and modalities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Experience in self-contained classrooms valued
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans for each student
- Deliver engaging instruction using various communication strategies and assistive technologies
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with state guidelines
- Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities
- Foster a positive, respectful, and interactive classroom culture
