Make a meaningful impact teaching and supporting students with hearing differences in the welcoming suburbs north of Nashville. We seek dedicated professionals with expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for a full-time contract assignment in a thriving educational community. This is an onsite-only opportunity where you'll work closely with students ranging from kindergarten through high school across key district hubs, including a newly established middle school site.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Tennessee Department of Education (DOE) certification relevant to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience or strong interest in working with K–12 students with hearing loss
- Ability to provide both direct instruction and consultative support based on individual student needs
- Must complete Tennessee fingerprinting requirements as per district guidelines
- Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach with school staff and families
Your Role:
- Deliver specialized deaf/hard of hearing services tailored to students’ IEPs, which may include consultation and direct teaching
- Serve caseloads varying by assignment, primarily at dedicated Pre-K, elementary, and new middle school hubs
- Participate in developing, reviewing, and updating student plans and related documentation
- Collaborate with general educators, administration, and families to optimize the educational experience for each student
- Engage in ongoing professional communication and advocacy for students’ access and inclusion in the school environment
