What we’re looking for:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing from the Tennessee Department of Education
- Experience or interest working within K-12 settings, including both younger and older students
- Readiness to complete fingerprinting for Tennessee school credentialing
- Strong communication and consultation skills, adaptable to a range of student needs
- Ability to work onsite across various campuses within a northern Nashville area school district
- Willingness to adapt to varying caseloads and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across grade levels
- Partner with teaching and support staff to design accommodations and strategies individualized to each student
- Support inclusive practices and promote self-advocacy skills for students
- Participate in IEP meetings, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and administration on student progress and needs
