Key qualifications:
- Valid and active Tennessee Department of Education Certification
- Fingerprinting per Tennessee requirements
- Experience or training as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Strong collaboration, consultation, and communication skills
- Flexibility for assignments across elementary and middle school DHH hubs
- Commitment to student-centered, inclusive practices in both direct and consultative roles
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction, consultation, and support to K-12 students with hearing differences
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized educational needs
- Work closely with general education teachers, speech pathologists, and related service providers
- Engage families, offering resources and guidance to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance with IEP mandates
- Travel between school locations as needed, with district hubs serving varied grade levels
This is an onsite, full-time contract role (37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday aligned with the school calendar) beginning August 3, 2026, and concluding May 28, 2027. Assignments may shift based on student needs, providing opportunities to broaden your experience in both early childhood and middle school DHH education.
