Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois DHH certification required
- Experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proficient in adapting curriculum and learning plans for students’ auditory and communication needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation for DHH students
- Ability to track student progress and effectively document interventions
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support and intervention to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications in the classroom
- Develop and adjust individualized education plans tailored to each student's requirements
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, sharing expertise in hearing loss, communication strategies, and technology
- Foster an inclusive, supportive educational environment for optimal student learning and growth
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development as needed
