DHH Teacher | Cibolo, Texas
Step into an impactful educational setting as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, providing specialized support to students with hearing needs in an engaging and collaborative environment. These contract roles are scheduled for the upcoming academic year, beginning August 12, 2026, and running through May 26, 2027, with a 35-hour workweek. Educators will work exclusively on-site and will be assigned to either an elementary or middle school caseload (covering math and core English teaching) or a high school caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH); a master's degree is highly preferred
- Valid Educator Certification specific to DHH
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)—candidates will showcase skills during the interview
- Experience teaching math and/or core English at K-12 levels
- Ability to provide references and present all relevant certifications and licenses
- Versatile teaching background, accommodating varied student needs and ages
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction in academic and language areas tailored to students with hearing loss
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in consultation with multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers to design inclusive lessons
- Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to maximize learning outcomes
