Teacher of the Deaf in Schertz, TX
Empower students to find their voice and reach their full academic potential as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We are seeking passionate and skilled educators to support elementary/middle and high school learners. These on-site, contract positions begin in mid-August and run through late May, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact throughout the school year.
Ideal candidates thrive in inclusive classroom environments, demonstrate a love for language, and possess specialized knowledge that supports students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. You’ll collaborate with a supportive team, focusing on both Math and Core English instruction, tailoring content for each student’s unique needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education; MA degree preferred
- Valid Educator Certification (please have documentation ready)
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL; will be assessed during the interview)
- Experience teaching Math and Core English at elementary, middle, or high school levels
- Strong references (to be provided upon submission)
- Well-rounded communication and classroom management skills

- Deliver engaging instruction in Math and English to students across designated grade levels
- Utilize ASL and other modalities to ensure accessible learning
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to support individual educational goals
