Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Universal City, TX
Bring your expertise in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to a welcoming school community near Universal City, TX! Ideal candidates will begin review in mid-to-late May, for an August 12, 2026 start. Two opportunities are available: one supporting elementary/middle students, and another focused on high school learners. You will work 35 hours per week during the academic year, with school assignments determined prior to your start date.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
- State Educator Certification for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), assessed during the interview process
- Ability to teach either core English or math at the appropriate grade level
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams and supporting varied age groups preferred
- Must provide pictures of all current certifications/licenses and have references available upon request
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction in either math or English to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to support individual communication needs
- Monitor student progress and contribute to IEP development
- Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and related staff
- Help cultivate an inclusive, accessible learning environment
