Make a difference in the lives of students while advancing your career as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational community on the northern side of the Nashville area. This contract opportunity spans the 2026–2027 school year, supporting learners from Kindergarten through 12th grade across dedicated DHH hubs—including an exciting new Middle School program.

You’ll work onsite within a cluster of schools where your expertise will play a vital consultative role as part of an inclusive district team. Your focus will be adapting strategies to individual student needs, collaborating with both special education professionals and general education staff, and actively helping students access the curriculum and thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Tennessee Department of Education Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Demonstrated K–12 educational experience preferred
  • Strong consultative and communication skills for working with faculty, families, and students
  • Ability to travel between assigned schools within the district as needed
  • Completion of required Tennessee fingerprinting/background process by the start date

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate in developing, monitoring, and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Offer guidance to classroom teachers on best practices for accessibility and accommodations
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for parents and staff on Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Maintain thorough records and contribute to district reporting requirements

This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week), academic-year contract role with a Monday–Friday schedule onsite, offering you the chance to see meaningful progress for your students each day.
