Key Qualifications:
- Valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teaching License through TEA
- Experience in Texas schools is highly desirable
- Comfort with conducting student evaluations, interpreting audiograms, and participating in ARDs
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, encouraging environment for all learners
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in PreK-6th grade
- Conduct and interpret audiological evaluations
- Attend and contribute in ARD meetings as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Document progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Serve as an advocate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within the educational community
The position offers flexible scheduling with a minimum of 21 hours per week (up to 35 hours), providing excellent work-life balance while allowing you to make a real impact.
