Inspire and support students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a high school setting during the 2026-2027 academic year. The position is full-time, operating Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 2:45 PM CST, with a first day of service on August 4, 2026. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Familiarity with high school curriculum and adolescent learning strategies
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); ability to facilitate communication through various modalities
- Previous experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the student’s abilities and goals
- Deliver direct, engaging classroom instruction and adapt materials as necessary
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere to encourage academic and social growth
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and family members to support student development
- Regularly assess progress and adjust strategies for optimal student success
- Serve as an advocate for the student within the educational environment
