Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Douglas, AK

This is an onsite-only role, welcoming travel candidates who can be present on campus and engage directly with students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Alaska teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or proof of pending licensure
- Type C certification (copies or license numbers required)
- Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple grade levels preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable with a flexible full-time schedule (generally between 8 AM–4 PM)
- Open to traveling onsite, with reimbursement available for travel-related expenses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students across various grade levels, adapting lessons for individual needs
- Collaborate with general educators, service providers, and families to ensure a supportive, inclusive environment
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Offer resources and advocacy for students and families as needed
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in DHH education
