Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
  • Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and accommodations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student needs
  • Support students in building self-advocacy, communication, and academic skills
  • Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing progress reviews
  • Offer resources and training to staff and families to facilitate student success
  • Travel between buildings is minimal, with all locations in close proximity
