Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and accommodations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Support students in building self-advocacy, communication, and academic skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing progress reviews
- Offer resources and training to staff and families to facilitate student success
- Travel between buildings is minimal, with all locations in close proximity
