Key Qualifications:
- Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience supporting students across K-12 is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of diverse communicative modes (sign, oral, total communication)
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and methods to meet IEP goals
- Collaborative spirit for working with paraprofessionals, general educators, and special services teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments across district sites
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Support language, academic, and social-emotional development
- Adapt curriculum and classroom environments for accessibility
- Conduct regular progress monitoring and adjust instruction accordingly
- Work closely with para support staff to deliver comprehensive services
- Communicate regularly with families and educational team members
- Utilize technology and assistive devices to promote student independence and engagement
