Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility for state endorsement.
  • Experience working with children or youth who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel between sites across Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties.
  • Comfortable working with a diverse student population and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Adapt educational materials and classroom environments to meet students’ unique learning needs.
  • Partner with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusive learning environments.
  • Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Utilize a range of assistive technologies and teaching strategies to promote language and academic development.
  • Serve as a resource to staff and families, offering consultation and training as needed.
  • Travel throughout assigned counties to serve students at various schools.
