Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility for state endorsement.
- Experience working with children or youth who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel between sites across Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties.
- Comfortable working with a diverse student population and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Adapt educational materials and classroom environments to meet students’ unique learning needs.
- Partner with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Utilize a range of assistive technologies and teaching strategies to promote language and academic development.
- Serve as a resource to staff and families, offering consultation and training as needed.
- Travel throughout assigned counties to serve students at various schools.
