Key Qualifications:
- Active Department of Education teaching certificate required
- Experience teaching or working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Knowledge of educational strategies, assistive technologies, and resources for the DHH population
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, families, and support staff
- Flexibility to serve in various school buildings as assigned
- Completion of fingerprint-based background check required prior to start
What You'll Do:
- Deliver direct instruction individually and in small groups tailored to the needs of DHH students
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Advocate for accommodations, services, and appropriate classroom modifications
- Consult with classroom educators to adapt curriculum and ensure accessibility for all students
- Maintain regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings
- Adjust support services as needed based on student progress and school assignment
