Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Hooksett, New Hampshire

Key Qualifications:
- Hold appropriate certification for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans
- Proficient in using educational data platforms (NHSEIS preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with families, audiologists, SLPs, and other professionals
- Deep understanding of hearing loss, assistive technology, and appropriate classroom accommodations
- Familiarity with managing and troubleshooting student amplification devices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction aligned with each student’s needs and goals
- Contribute expertise to the IEP development process, including proposing goals and progress metrics
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and 504 plans
- Analyze evaluation and progress reports to inform classroom instruction
- Maintain accurate instructional records and progress monitoring data
- Provide consultation, training, and support to staff regarding hearing loss and accommodations
- Oversee the use and maintenance of student amplification devices, and manage equipment needs
- Guide students in developing self-advocacy skills and independence with their devices
- Ensure compliance with state and district special education policies and procedural safeguards
- Participate fully in professional development and building activities as required
