DHH Teacher | Hooksett, New Hampshire

Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans
- Familiarity with NHSEIS and the special education process
- Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary educational teams
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting assistive hearing technology (hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants)
- Ability to provide training and consultation for staff, families, and students
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations for special education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s IEP or 504 plan
- Utilize evaluation data and progress reports to inform educational proposals and adapt teaching strategies
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and instructional interventions
- Monitor and support modified instruction in classrooms according to IEP guidelines
- Consult regularly with families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and related service providers
- Provide ongoing training to school staff regarding hearing loss, technology, and classroom accommodations
- Manage student hearing devices, including troubleshooting and coordinating repairs or replacements
- Guide students in self-advocacy, equipment management, and requesting necessary accommodations
- Adhere to NH Special Education Procedural Safeguards and school district policies
- Participate in required professional development and fulfill all staff responsibilities within the assigned building
