Key Qualifications:
- Prior experience or certification in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Familiarity with the use of NHSEIS and a strong understanding of IEP and 504 plan processes
- Ability to implement evaluation findings in instructional planning
- Strong organizational skills for record keeping and progress monitoring
- Comfort with consultation and collaboration among families, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other providers
- Experience providing professional development or staff training is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students who qualify for these services
- Use NHSEIS to contribute to IEP development
- Collaborate with school teams on creating, implementing, and monitoring IEPs and 504 plans
- Integrate evaluation and progress report data into your instructional approach and proposals for IEP goals
- Maintain accurate records and progress data
- Oversee and monitor classroom modifications as outlined in IEPs
- Provide ongoing consultation and guidance to staff and families regarding hearing loss and accommodations
- Manage and troubleshoot student amplification devices, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
- Support students in self-advocacy and management of their assistive technology
- Ensure compliance with all state special education procedural safeguards and district policies
- Participate in professional development and fulfill required building staff duties
