Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Lawrence, MA
Step into a dynamic role supporting students from Pre-K through age 22 as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This part-time contract position allows you to make a meaningful difference by providing both direct and consultative services to a diverse caseload of 43 students. Work closely with educational teams, families, and administrators to ensure that students receive the tailored support they need to thrive.
Candidates for this opportunity must hold a valid Massachusetts TDHH credential and be ready to deliver high-quality consultative expertise, as most services will be consultative with some direct instruction as needed. The position consists of 24 hours per week, over three days each week, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active MA TDHH credential is required
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school-based settings
- Comfortable managing a varied caseload across Pre-K to age 22
- Effective collaborator, skilled in both direct instruction and consultation
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive consultative support and occasional direct instruction
- Develop and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to implement best practices and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and service logs
- Support students’ social, academic, and communication goals
