Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Methuen, Massachusetts

This fulfilling contract role offers the opportunity to work three days a week with a diverse caseload of 43 students, ranging from PreK up to age 22, in a school setting near Methuen, MA.
As a licensed professional with the necessary MA TDHH certification, you’ll apply your expertise in both consultative and direct service models, with an emphasis on consultation. You will collaborate closely with educators, families, and students to promote effective communication strategies and advocate for student needs, ensuring equitable access to the curriculum and broader school life.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) credential required
- Experience supporting students with hearing loss in educational settings, ideally across multiple grade levels (PreK-22)
- Strong skills in collaboration and consultation with teachers, therapists, and school staff
- Passion for creating individualized strategies to help students access learning and thrive socially and academically
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative services and direct teaching as needed, with a primary focus on consultation
- Develop, implement, and adjust communication supports and instructional strategies
- Support IEP development, goal monitoring, and documentation
- Work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to foster inclusive environments
- Advocate for necessary accommodations, technology, and resources tailored to each student
