Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Lusby, Maryland

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Previous experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings preferred
- Strong communication skills, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used by students
- Ability to create and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Skilled in collaborating with classroom teachers, speech language pathologists, audiologists, and families
- Passion for fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, individually and in small groups
- Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEP goals
- Provide consultation and resources to general education staff to ensure accessibility and understanding
- Encourage the use of assistive technology and appropriate accommodations within the classroom
- Facilitate and support effective communication between students, peers, and staff
- Conduct ongoing assessments to inform instruction and report on student progress
- Offer guidance and support for families navigating educational options and resources
