An exciting opportunity is available for a certified Special Education teacher with expertise in Hearing Impairment (HI) to support students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic, in-person educational setting near Mesa, AZ. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification with a Hearing Impairment (HI) endorsement
- Demonstrated experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related position working with K-12 students
- In-depth understanding of educational methodologies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills when working with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in accordance with individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to adapt materials and create accessible learning experiences
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to maximize student success
- Maintain detailed records and participate in IEP meetings, providing input and expertise to support student goals
- Offer guidance, training, and resources to school staff and families to foster understanding and effective support strategies
