Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License required
- Experience or training working with children who are deaf/hard of hearing, especially those with additional disabilities
- Ability to build rapport with students, adapting instruction to meet their specific learning needs
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred for more effective communication
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct educational services in a one-on-one onsite setting according to the IEP
- Develop and implement individualized teaching strategies and resources that address both multi-disability and deafness-related needs
- Monitor student progress, adjust teaching approaches, and document growth
- Communicate regularly with family and interdisciplinary support staff to ensure a cohesive educational approach
