What you'll bring:

  • Hold current certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education.
  • Demonstrated experience or formal training as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Strong knowledge of language development, auditory training, and adaptive instructional strategies.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt lessons and materials to varied learning needs and communication modalities.
  • Collaborative spirit for working alongside general education teachers, aides, and related service providers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging, individualized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, using methods tailored to their communication preferences.
  • Conducting assessments to monitor and support student progress.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEPs.
  • Providing consultation and support to classroom teachers and support staff to facilitate an inclusive educational environment.
  • Communicating with families to share student successes, address challenges, and offer resources.
  • Advocating for accessible learning environments and supportive services as needed.
