Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid California Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License
  • Background in designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Experience providing instruction across a range of grade levels (K-12)
  • Versatility in communication methods, including American Sign Language and spoken English
  • Ability to consult and collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a variety of educational settings
  • Conduct assessments, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Adapt curricular materials to suit individualized learning needs and optimize accessibility
  • Support language development and communication in both mainstream and self-contained classrooms
  • Offer consultative services to staff and families to promote full student inclusion and participation
  • Advocate for student needs and help foster a positive, inclusive school culture
