Qualifications:
- Valid California teaching credential in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education
- Experience teaching or supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, preferably K-12
- Strong understanding of best practices in Deaf education, language development, and communication modalities (e.g., ASL, Signed English, or auditory/oral approaches)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Team player, adaptable, and passionate about inclusion and advocacy
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Provide direct instruction and support across K-12 age groups, tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, administrators, and families to ensure optimal educational access
- Advocate for accessible learning environments and appropriate technology such as assistive listening devices
- Maintain accurate records and document student progress regularly
- Support students in both academic and social-emotional growth within school settings
